Talks, Masterclasses & Workshops

Human intelligence for the realities of modern work

As technology accelerates and organisations navigate increasing complexity and change, the human capacities that shape how we think, communicate, decide and work together matter more, not less.

I offer talks, masterclasses and facilitated workshops that help leaders, professionals and teams explore and strengthen these capacities — combining ideas and frameworks with reflection, discussion and practical application.

Sessions can be commissioned by organisations, professional associations and conference organisers, or delivered as part of leadership development, team development and organisational change programmes.

Ways to work together

Sessions can be designed and delivered as:

Talks, presentations & webinars
60–90 minute sessions, online or in person, introducing an idea or challenge and creating space for reflection, discussion and Q&A.

Masterclasses
Deeper learning sessions combining expert input, facilitated exploration and practical application around a particular area.

Half-day & full-day workshops
Interactive sessions allowing participants to explore an issue in greater depth, apply the thinking to their own context and practise different ways of working.

Content and format can be adapted to the audience, context and purpose.

Current Topics

Human Intelligence in the Age of AI

What becomes more important about being human as technology becomes more capable?

AI is changing not only what we can do, but what organisations need from the people doing it.

This session explores the human capacities that become increasingly important alongside technological capability — including judgement, discernment, self-awareness, relational intelligence, creativity and the ability to make thoughtful decisions in complexity.

Rather than positioning human intelligence in competition with artificial intelligence, we explore how the two can complement one another — and where distinctly human capability continues to matter.

Relevant for: AI adoption, leadership development, workforce transformation and future-of-work conversations.

The Human Side of Change

Why can people understand what needs to change — and still not change?

Organisations often invest considerable effort in strategy, systems and change plans while underestimating the human realities that determine whether change actually happens.

This session explores the gap between knowing and doing: what can prevent people from moving with change even when the strategic rationale makes sense.

Depending on the context, we may explore resistance, competing priorities, values and needs, relationships, established patterns, uncertainty and the human capacity required to operate differently.

The aim is not to label people as resistant, but to become more precise about what is actually preventing movement.

Relevant for: organisational change, transformation programmes, restructuring, new ways of working, culture change and leadership teams navigating transition.

Communication That Creates Movement

When does communication create understanding — and when does it simply create more communication?

Organisations communicate constantly, yet misunderstandings, assumptions, avoidance and unresolved tensions can still prevent people from working effectively together.

This session explores communication as a relational capability rather than simply a technique.

Depending on the audience and context, areas can include listening, assumptions, feedback, difficult conversations, boundaries, communicating across different perspectives, disagreement and the relationship between clarity and action.

This topic can also be developed as a communication series, allowing particular capabilities to be explored and practised in greater depth.

Relevant for: teams, leaders, cross-functional working, stakeholder relationships and organisations seeking stronger collaboration.

Values, Motivation & Meaningful Work

What makes people genuinely want to contribute?

Motivation cannot simply be imposed through targets, incentives or organisational messaging.

This session explores the relationship between values, intrinsic motivation, meaning and engagement — and what happens when what matters to an individual meets the realities and expectations of an organisation.

Participants consider what drives their own behaviour and contribution, how different people can be motivated by very different things, and what leaders can do to create conditions in which greater ownership and meaningful contribution become possible.

Relevant for: leadership development, engagement, team development, culture, purpose and organisations seeking to understand what genuinely motivates their people.

Coherence & Alignment

What happens when what we intend, what matters to us and what we actually do stop lining up?

Individuals, teams and organisations can have clear values, goals and intentions while operating in ways that contradict them.

This session explores the relationship between alignment and coherence — and the gaps that can emerge between what we say matters, what we are trying to achieve and what happens in practice.

Participants explore where contradiction or fragmentation may be occurring and what greater coherence could look like in decisions, behaviour, relationships and ways of working.

The purpose is not to create perfect consistency. It is to notice where important discrepancies are preventing people or organisations from operating as they intend.

Relevant for: leadership teams, values and culture work, organisational development, periods of transition and teams seeking greater clarity and alignment.

Looking for something more specific?

These topics are starting points rather than fixed packages.

Sessions can be adapted around a particular audience, organisational context or development need, and related topics can be combined where that creates a more useful experience.

If your organisation is facing a specific problem that keeps recurring despite attempts to resolve it, rather than looking primarily for learning or capability development, Leadership Coherence may be the more appropriate starting point.
